The Last Round in Nebraska...for now

Previously in 2015, I had went out to The Links of Lincoln to play and discovered that they had lost their greens for the year, so I decided to save it for the final course for Golfing Nebraska. Page forward to July 29, 2017 and that day has arrived. I invited several golfers to join me for this final round. Golf "Bro" Don Zimmerman and I have been playing golf together since 1969 at Norfolk Junior College and my sister Lana Zimmerman served as my caddie and photographer also their grandson Taylor Zimmerman joined us. Rick Wilson and I go way back to Norfolk High days. From the Cook's Golf League days were Rick Ruge, Jack Henning, Pat Aten, Jody Sullivan and Eric Marshall.  Doug Glenn was a neighbor of ours on so 42nd in Lincoln and Bob Curran is a current neighbor that can still hit a decent ball at age 90!

I played 3 holes with each group and we also had  flag prizes for closest to the pin on both par 3's and longest putt made on hole #9. After we finished we gathered at my house for a great golf theme lunch prepared by my wife Pam. Rick Wilson and Doug Glenn won the par 3 flag prizes and Taylor Zimmerman won the longest putt prize. Doug Glenn had low score with a 38.

Several neighbors and relatives also joined us at the house for lunch. Thanks to Peggy Ruge for taking  pictures at the luncheon.

There are still a few Private Clubs in Omaha that will not let me on unless I am with or sponsored  by a member. I will continue looking for a way to get on those courses. Stay tuned.
