After a good nights rest and breakfast at Mom's motel, I headed for Butte up on Hwy 12 about 120 miles northwest of Norfolk.
Butte Golf Course was converted from sand to artificial greens, The course is still a par 33 with three par 3's and six par 4's located 3 miles south of town. The gentle rolling layout is an easy walk with tree-lined fairways with small elevated greens.
Next Stop: Springview
Traveling one hour west on a very scenic Hwy 12 along the Niobrara River Valley is Springview and another sand greens course of Nebraska.
The Springview Golf Club is located on the northwest part of town near the city park. It is a short par 30 sand course with 2 par 4's and 7 par 3's covering 1686 yards.
Next Stop: Bassett
Bassett Country Club is 30 miles south of Springview just two miles west of Bassett on Hwy 20. The course has wide, tree-lined undulated fairways and medium sized unguarded crowned greens. Most of the holes lay east to west as the 25-30 mph north wind followed me there!
Now I am headed for Ainsworth to meet my wife for a short stay for her Aunt Gerts memorial service on Saturday.
